Bedspreads at the brick are a summer staple in the kitchen. From the soft, down comforter to the cool, earthy-scented candle, each bedspread has a personality of its own.
When I was growing up, I was obsessed with the idea of bedspreads. I thought they were the most beautiful thing in the world. I would even put a pillowcase over my head and pretend I was a princess. I would put cool, black and white striped sheets on the bed and pretend it was a royal palace. I would even put a dress on over a nightgown and pretend it was a princess’ nightgown.
I remember the first time I actually bought bedspreads. I bought a bunch of them all at once, thinking I was going to wear them all the time. I ended up only half-wearing them and then had to buy more. I remember how much I loved them. I remember the day I finally wore them because it was the day my dad came home for the first time in 10 years and realized he had been married for a while.
I remember that day too. The day after he came home, I was in the kitchen when he came in and said, “You know, I’ve been married for a long time. I’ve loved my wife.
I remember that day and the two years after, of course. I remember the day my dad came back. The day when I finally came home for the first time in 10 years.
I remember the day I started sleeping in my dad’s bed. The day I finally stopped living in my mom’s bed. The day I finally moved out of my sister’s bed.
I don’t know about you, but I feel like I’m missing out on a lot of “what ifs.” What if I hadn’t had this job? What if I hadn’t had this job? What would have been different? What if I hadn’t had my job? I know what I’d be doing now, but I’d be doing it more slowly. I think about the people on my block. I’d be more focused, more productive, less stressed…
It all comes to one simple conclusion for us all: we will never have more than what we have right now. No matter how much money we have, we will always have the luxury of having the best available bed, or the best available couch, or the best available desk, or the best available couch. But we are all just a little bit happier for it.
Yes, we all have the luxury of beds when we’re not in our beds. But that’s not really it. If you want to sleep on a comfortable bed, you need to go find a comfortable bed. But if you want to sleep on a comfortable bed, you didn’t find the bed with the best mattress.
We, the users, are the ones who chose the mattress and the bed. Because there is no set formula, there are no formulas for finding the best bed. We all have different tastes, and different preferences, and we all have different bed types. The best I can do is to show you what types of beds we like.
